The difference between VFD and servo
Von himaxmotors, 08:51
The English translation of drive is VFD (Variable-frequency Drive), this may be one of the few examples that the reverse of modern technology which by the Chinese translated into English. Variable-frequency Drive is electric drive components that apply variable frequency drive technology and microelectronic technology, through changing the motor frequency and amplitude to control ac motor. Affected by Japanese brushless motor manufacturers, Inverter has been called VVVF (Variable Voltage Variable Frequency Inverter) in China, Korea and other Asian regions.
Servo system: servo mechanism is the automatic control system to make the object position, orientation and status charged follow the input output target (or reference). Its main task is to control the commands.
The differences between Servo motor and VFD is that servo is a closed-loop servo control system, but the drive is usually working in the open-loop control, so on matter in terms of speed or accuracy, VFD can not be compared with servo.
